100% Marsanne. Round and mouth-coating, but this has mineral cut. In fact, it is quite precise in the mouth, largely due to good acidity and strong minerality. Flavors include ripe lemon, almond paste and a citrus zest character in the finish that has nice synergy with mineral chew. Long, subtle finish - almond paste and meal.

Beautiful deep plum / purple color. The color alone sets this example apart from most others sampled recently from this appellation. Deeply fruited aromatics, too, are singular for this example and include richly scented nuances of red raspberries, ripe plums and that classic nuance of a Provencal Village. These aromas of spice and ripe red and blue fruits, with hints of black olive, are classic southern French. Soft, supple and deeply fruited flavors on the palate combine that plummy nuance from the aromas with silky tannins to coat the palate with blue fruits and zero hard edges. A beautiful example of a classic southern French "house wine" that will showcase your roasted chicken or leg of lamb with herbs to a "T".

Accessible layered fruit on the palate, which is gently mouthfilling, with a pleasing freshness. There is something earthy here too, and the fruit is reminiscent of wild hedgerow fruits, very fruity, juicy and succulent. The tannins are gently assertive, they will not preclude early drinking though this will undoubtedly evolve over the short-term.

The bouquet is fruity with some grapes and exotic fruit aromas. In the mouth a fat attack and a balance of a great fineness between the subtle aromas of chenin blanc and the "noble" light bitterness of this grape variety.

Initially a lean texture and firm acidity, but it fattens up with some aeration and soon displays superb concentration married with a well defined texture. Stuffed with smoke, mineral and stone interest. Black olives and just a little red fruit to be found, backed up by some strong, grippy tannins. Delightful and complex. The Mediterranean climate of Friuli brings out the enticing ripe pear aromas and lush texture of pinot grigio. “An excellent wine: dry, full bodied, very fruity in flavor, with medium length” (Restaurant Wine, Issue #85 2001). Pierpaolo Pinot Grigio’s creamy, roasted nut and apple aromas make it an excellent companion to risotto and all creamy pasta sauces.

There is a New World ripe expression of fruit in the nose, along with perfume, green herbs and some minerality. In the mouth there is ample acidity with some thick, fleshy fruit as well to fill it out. There is a little phenolic grip, like biting into the grape skin, which might be a result of the extended contact of skin to juice after pressing.

Deep black almandine ruby with black reflections and almandine rim. Intense bouquet with India ink mingled with greenish sandalwood accents and underlying bitterness, hardwood ash and sea salt, with hits of green leather and underlying cherry and forest berry fruit. Quite a bit going on, in a young key that's in mid stride. On the palate full, with fairly intense cherry fruit supported by dusky graphite bitterness, while direction comes from equally dusky savory acidity, and it flows into a clean savory fruit laced finish that gains definition from underlying bitterness. Elegant, in a youthfully muscular key, and will gain considerably with time.

A red wine, which goes from ruby to garnet red, pronounced aroma, full, delicate flavor is dry, fruity, well balanced, tannic, and its flavor has a bitter tendency, with hints of plum, cherry, small red fruits. It goes well with roasted red and white meat, poultry and game, pasta dishes, ground and seasoned cheese.
September 2009 Wine Of The Month

Instense color and immediate scent of cherry, raspberry and the vanilla of 8 Months in barrique. Opulent bouquet with clear taste of berries and a hint of leather.

Aged 100% in stainless steel, this juicy red wine is packed with classic Montepulciano fruity freshness. Wonderfully easy drinking, shining with fresh red fruits and a little earthiness.

The ripest grapes from "La Madonnina" are matured for two years in oak casks and made into a typical Riserva. The result of this careful treatment is an extremely elegant, well-structured Chianti, powerful yet velvety-smooth with classic flavours of soft fruit and plums and woody aromas. Superb with poultry, roast meat and mild cheeses.

Unlike the Riserva, this Chianti is more youthful and correspondingly fruitier. It is made from the earliest-harvested grapes from the La Madonnina estate. Both extract and tannins are less pronounced, giving a wine for early drinking which is bottled «Pan d’un giorno, vin d’un anno» (bread of one day, wine of one year). Good everyday drinking, though in no way a commonplace wine, thanks to its pleasant freshness and plentiful substance. Best drunk with: Pasta of all sorts, grilled meats and mild cheeses.

A wine which comes straight to the point, fruity and vegetal on the nose, aromatic and well-balanced on the palate.

From careful selections of the best bunches in our historical Merlot vineyards, separately vinified, the wine matures in barriques of Allier at least for twelve months and refines in bottle for 24 months. Of a deep concentrated ruby color, it offers to the nose hints of mature black and bitter cherry with coffee and chocolate notes. Elegant in the palate and of great structure and body.

Familiar terms like sour cherry, blackcurrant liquor (cassis), aniseed, eucalyptus and exotic spices doesn’t really do justice to this Brunello.
Wine Advocate awarded 92 points.

Offers dried flowers, with cherry, light fresh herbs and some biscuit. Medium-bodied, with chewy wood tannins. Clean and serious.

From the Abruzzo appellation comes this deeply colored, medium bodied red wine from Italy, made with 100% Montepulciano and aged in Slavonian oak. Fresh aromas of cassis, plums and red currant lie beneath a layer of subtle fruit with earthy overtones of spices, specifically cinnamon, with a suggestion of herbs.
