Sierra Norte Purple Corn Whiskey is made in Oaxaca, Mexico by Master Distiller Douglas French. The whiskey is double distilled, from a mashbill of 85% Heritage Purple Corn and 15% malted Barley, in a Coper Pot Still, and aged in a single French Oak barrel for a minimum of 10 months, and then bottled at 45% abv.
Aroma – Pepper, Star Anise, a dry nuttiness and peanut shells.
Taste – Stewed apple, red current, pomegranate and cranberry, background spices and late caramel sweetness
Finish – heavy clove notes and red licorice
