ONLINE Wine 101: Intro to Wine

This online course is designed to for beginning level wine enthusiasts learn how to effectively and confidently taste wine while giving them a core understanding of the basic factors that makes wines taste the way they do. Students will also  learn how to store, serve and pair food with wines.


During this session students will explore a variety of flavor profiles in wines and what makes certain food types compliment (or not complement) them. Students will also achieve a comprehensive understanding of the main factors involved in grape growing and wine making, as well as the basic characteristics of key grape varieties.

This course will give students a foundation to competently taste and discuss wines as well as giving them the tools and knowledge needed to successfully pair wine and food.

This full-day class is offered both in-person and online. There will be a brief break mid-day for lunch. 

Wine 101: Intro Wine

Codirosso Chianti

Intense vinous bouquet with hints of violets and dark cherry fruit. The palate is full of ripe fruit and a hint of spice. Well balanced and dry with a persistent, satisfying finish.

Pinot Noir

Floral with sweet dark notes and hints of caramel, dried herbs and wood smoke. Sweet red brambles, liquorish, and chocolate transitions to mushroom, nutmeg and cherry apparent on the palate. 


Böcking Riesling

Pale-yellow to yellow-green color. Refreshing, tangy, and crisp. This dry Riesling is fresh and delicious with developing fruity notes. 


Fleur Violette Chardonnay

Languedoc-Roussillon, France - $13.04


A well-crafted, rich white from the south of France, with loads of ripe apple, pear, and cream flavors. The light oak aging lends a smooth, buttery finish with refreshing acidity.


Lake Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon

Aromas of cedar, dark cherry compote, and dried tobacco leaves. Deliciously balanced and laced with flavors of blackberry pie, cinnamon, and allspice.


Domaine de Chateaumar Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Vincent

A rich and complex wine with aromas of dark fruits blackberries, blueberries, and dark spices. Sultry black pepper and black cherry fruit appear on the palate, swirling with earthy notes.
